GTD with FusionDesk

Getting Things Done (GTD) has become the most popular time management/personal productivity methodology. If you are amongst its fans, you are lucky - FusionDesk was designed with GTD in mind.

FusionDesk is very flexible so it allows you to implement GTD in different ways. The suggested method here is just one of them.

GTD Template

To help you start using GTD we have creted a template for it.

Contexts

Whether you use GTD or not, specifying a context for each task allows you to later distinguish between tasks that need to be done in different places. FusionDesk has this feature natively. Learn more about contexts.

Next Actions

According to GTD, your tasks should not be a broad thing. Each task should consist of a sinlge action. A next action is the next physical action you need to perform, in order to move the project closer to completion. In FusionDesk use tags to specify a tasak is a next action. Use either 'Next Action' or the abbreviation 'NA'.

Projects

Notice that the concept of projects in FusionDesk and in GTD is different. In FusionDesk a project is a set of folders of tasks that are saved in a single file. In GTD a project is something you need to do that consists of more than one action. This means you might have a hundred projects at a time. They will vary from small like 'Repair my bike' to big like 'Complete company aquisition'.
